OF THE BLUEGRASS

ANCHORS AWEIGH!
Our monthly schools are setting sail the S.S. Shaved Ice, where students will explore new islands filled with lessons in gratitude, teamwork, humility, generosity, initiative, resourcefulness accountability, and empowerment!
Kona will help students of all ages learn that these character traits are more than just words — they’re life skills that help shape how children grow, lead, and interact with the world around them.

MEET PENNY
Where Every Thank You Warms the Heart!
Hi friends! I’m Penny the Penguin, and I come from the frosty but friendly Gratitude Glaciers, where every icy sparkle reminds us to count our blessings! Life here might be chilly, but our hearts stay warm when we remember to be grateful.

Being grateful means saying “thank you” — and really meaning it! It’s noticing the good things in your life — your friends, your family, your teachers, and all the small moments that make you smile. Gratitude is when you take the time to appreciate what you have instead of focusing on what you don’t. It’s like a little burst of sunshine in your heart that helps you see how lucky you truly are!

I love to remind others that gratitude grows when you share kindness, say kind words, and show appreciation. Even a simple “thank you,” a hug, or a happy note can make someone’s day brighter!

Did you know penguins are great at teamwork and gratitude too? When we huddle together, we keep each other warm through the coldest storms. We take turns standing on the outside to protect our friends in the middle — a perfect example of caring for and appreciating one another.

So come waddle with me on Gratitude Glaciers, where we practice noticing the good, thanking others often, and spreading kindness wherever we go.
When you lead with gratitude, every day feels a little brighter!
